If you don’t want to start the year off on the wrong foot, avoid these 5 things on Chinese New Year!

1. Do not wear black and white

Chinese people believe black and white symbolize death. It’s best to wear bright colors, especially red, as it’s considered the color of good luck and helps attract fortune.

2. Do not use foul language or cry

Chinese tradition holds that doing so will bring bad luck, leading to unfortunate events and sadness throughout the year.

3. Do not clean the house

Cleaning is believed to sweep away wealth and good fortune, so avoid doing so on this day.

4. Do not wash clothes

Washing clothes on Chinese New Year is thought to disrespect the God of Water, who is said to be born on this day.

5. Do not cut or wash your hair

The word for hair in Chinese sounds like the word for wealth. Therefore, cutting or washing your hair is seen as removing prosperity and wealth from your life.

The last one is particularly tough, right? I might not be able to resist! Off I go for a thorough hair wash, so I can survive these 3 days with fresh hair using my Biotin set.
